The Carroll E. Brown Scholarship Foundation was established in Jan 2004 by Bevoli N. Knox, CEO of Bee’s Gali, and Image Design & Consulting Services. 

The Carroll E. Brown Scholarship Foundation exists to help change the gender-related disparity in education, leadership and socio-economic advancement by enabling more women to acquire education, support and access to personal development resources.  

This annual empowerment program is designed specifically to assist women, and to enhance the programs that educate, empower and support them. The Carroll E. Brown Scholarship Foundation generates funding and administers such funds in the form of scholarships to women of all ages, for training and/or consultation, to foster a positive female identity and sense of worth.  This will enhance the communities these women serve as well as the women themselves.

Areas of personal development / education will include but are not limited to: higher education, self-enhancement workshops; assertiveness training; mental health counseling; positive image design; self-esteem workshops; literary training, communications, and other programs designed to empower women.

Scholarships will be awarded once a year to several deserving applicants, at The West Haven Black Coalition Annual Scholarship and Awards Dinner.

Applicants are required to submit a letter of interest explaining why funding is needed, along with the agency's name and training information.
